Venice Beach Skate Park update: contest cancelled, LAPD to enforce helmet law

The “Thanksgiving Day Massacre”, an event previously scheduled to happen today, November 21, at the Dennis “Polar Bear” Agnew Memorial Skatepark, in Venice Beach, has been cancelled.


According to an e-mail sent on 11/19 by Geri Lewis, Executive Director of the Venice Surf and Skateboard Association (VSA), the “[City of L.A. Dept. of] Recreation and Parks dropped the ball and did not have permit issued, so we have a new date for the contest, December 12, 2009.”


However, the following day, a posting on VSA’s blog states the event has been postponed to December 19...
